Organized by the British Council, this event is especially important if you are an incoming Fresher. Look out for the Durham University booth run by us, where you can clarify anything you are unsure of - on anything from college accommodation to those pesky CAS numbers you need for your Visa. Make sure to leave your contact details with us too, because it will be the primary means through which we will be disseminating important details to you. There will also be booths set up by banks, student insurance companies and even your alma-maters, as well as an informative briefing. Admission is free!
15 Aug 2013, 7-9 PM
A representative from the International Office at Durham University, Kristi McFarland (left), will be holding a briefing and talk session at the British Council, located at 30 Napier Road (opposite Tanglin Mall). It will be incredibly useful for anyone with queries to have them answered by the very staff who process your application and have years of experience helping international students. A representative from DUSingaporeSociety will be present too!
17 Aug 2013
A whole-day affair combining games and activities for our incoming Freshers in the day, and a dinner party for the entire society at night! Freshers, look forward to meeting your fellow first-years and to our Singaporean version of orientation so you won't miss out to your friends in local unis (orientation by your colleges in Durham is going to be a whole other new experience!) As the sun sets, the whole society will gather for a night of good food, banter and bonding.

The Warwick Summer Games is an annual tournament gathering Singaporean students from UK universities who battle it out in an array of sports (netball, soccer, floorball, frisbee to name a few) and games (Monopoly Deal anyone?). As a university with a comparatively small Singaporean population, we need all the help we can get! Doesn't matter if you are a Fresher coming in this year or alumni, just look out for sign-ups nearer the date and come down for a day of competitive fun and excitement.
7 Sept 2013
Another annual affair gathering all UK-bound Singaporeans, the highlight of which is a pageant featuring the dudes and dudettes of the UK universities. If you are keen to represent our Uni this year, please contact any of the Exec and we'll be happy to let you participate!! If pageants are not your cup of tea, however, you may look forward to a good ole' night out with your Durham buddies as well as an opportunity to mingle with students from other universities.
